Zach Johnson is CTA's new Executive Director. He has lived in Catholic Worker communities since 2009, and he and his wife Molly have been with the Minneapolis Catholic Worker since 2012. He spent most of the past 10 years working in homeless shelters. Before joining CTA, he worked at the largest shelter in Minnesota. Zach now volunteers in and around the shelters in Minneapolis, MN trying to organize the shelter residents to advocate for the needs of their community.
Zach is drawn to Catholic values like mystery, ritual, sacrifice, obedience (not to the bishop), and most of all the Catholic assumption that paradox is natural. He is thrilled to join CTA to practice Catholicism rooted in the works of mercy, and to work for justice for anyone harmed by the sins of the institution.
